According to Deadline, however, Westworld Season 3 will take a bit longer than expected to arrive. Given that the show just began production as of April 2019, Season 3 won't be premiering until some point in 2020. HBO is likely happy to take its time as it has the final season of Game of Thrones to ensure a successful summer.

At the moment however, no one can confirm exactly when Westworld Season 3 will be booking its trip back to the park on HBO. This is of course a curiosity for fans since season 2 took well over a year off from the series’ freshman effort, debuting in April 2018 after season 1 first bowed in October 2016.

Violent delights may have violent ends, but Westworld’s enticements are in no danger of being shut off, even after an aborted robo-apocalypse on the island of lost dreams turned it into a waking nightmare. Which is happy news for us, cowboy. Westworld Season 3 was confirmed early into the current season's run. And we're getting intriguing new teases about it to this day.

For example, atop Lisa Joy's previous tease of a "whole new world" of storytelling possibilities, Westworld showrunners Joy and Jonathan Nolan sat down with The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the Emmys to give some thoughts on the season that was... and the season that is to come. Among the most prescient comments, Nolan confirmed not only would season 3 be very different, but that it will offer the opportunity to explore the perspective of a species with a nigh-immortal lifespan. At that point, characters can start thinking about things in the span of eons as opposed to years.

Deadline reports that actress, writer, and producer Lena Waithe (The Chi) will appear in Westworld Season 3 in some capacity. It's unknown what role she will be playing but it's expected to involve the incoming conflict between robots/hosts and humanity.

Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul has been cast as a series regular for the upcoming season. According to Deadline, HBO and Westworld producers are staying mum on what role Paul might play, which is par for the course with this show.
