It’s a powerful combination, sure to produce an iconic character, and I feel lucky to be in their company.” Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past. “Destroyer” boasts an envious supporting cast, including Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn, and Scoot McNairy. David Diliberto (“No Country for Old Men“) and Nathan Kelly (“Short Term 12“) join Berger, Hay, and Manfredi as producers. “Destroyer” is one of the 12 feature films nominated for a Platform Prize at TIFF, an annual award acknowledging talented directors. Annapurna is in charge of the U.S. release of “Destroyer,” but no official release date has been given at this time.
