The Fourth edition of the annual Osun Youth Ambassadors Awards, designed to celebrate young people who have carved niches for themselves in their respective chosen career, hold on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Aurora Events Centre, Osogbo, Osun state. The awards programme is being organized by an organisation, Youth Reformers Initiative (YRI).
"The award is designed to reward individuals that have shaped the whole world, Nigeria and Osun in particular especially in the following areas of human endeavours:
Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Health, Gender Advocacy, Private,Youth Advocacy Sector, Education, Sports, Force, Faith, Entertainment Environment, Journalism, International Partnership, Peace Building, Science and Technology.
No fewer than 18 indigenes of Osun state have been nominated and certified worthy to be honoured, receive varying awards for their outstanding performance in their chosen fields of endeavours.
1. TOSIN ADEBUSUYIAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN CAPACITY
Tosin adebusuyi hails from OSU in Osun state, a public healath professional by training. with multidimensional skills - set and work experience in administration, programme planning and implementation among others. She heads Treasure jars youth center, a youth-focus Non gov organisation (NGO) in osogbo osun state, focusiong on Adolescent Health, Life Skills Bulding and Enterprenureship Development.
2. RASHEED BOLARINWAAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN MASS MEDIA
Rasheed bolarinwa, the Osogbo born banker is one of the Nigeria's foremost marketing and corporate commuincations professional whose craft and charisma have postively influenced the fortunes of the profession (and brands he has been associated with) northwards. Rasheed is one of the few marketing commuincations (marcom) practitioners that have a good mix of academia and foot-soldier experience in a field that has seen tramendous global growth, buoyed by the social media and increasing ability of the sector to safeguard reputations, support growths of brand & enhance thought leaderhip.
3. LAWAL OLAMILEKANAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN HUMANITARIAN SERVICES
Lawal olamilekan was born by Alh and Seyyidal lawal olagunju almonyashau on the 16th july, into the royal family of Odunniyi Olagunju Ruling house of Ede North LG, Osun state. Being a vast young man who believes in archiving more values with less resources, He stated his advocacy career executively when he served as the Special Adviser on media and publicity to the Osun state Coordinator of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA COMRADES (NANC) Where he worked passionately and his activities restructured the working force of the entire union which earned him a Rapid promotion as the senior special assistant, Media & Publicity
4. FEMI OLANIPEKUNAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN BROADCAST MEDIA
Femi is a broadcast journalist with about 15 years' experience in Presentation, Production as well as News and Current Affairs in both public and private broadcast sectors, The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and now at RAVE 91.7FM Osogbo, Osun state. Femi was a Bachelors of Education Degree in English and Educational Management from the University of ibadan, has always been fascinated about information and driven by a strong passion and desire to distil information to the public for them to make better and informed decisions.
5. OPEYEMI MOSUNMOLAAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Mosunmola hails from Iwo, Osun state. from the family of Alh. Ayodola Dauda Adigun Oloode in Iwo, Opeyemi Mosunmola Adigun was a successful business woman. She has trained more than 250 Osun Youths on how to be self employed, how to bake cakes, pastry and decorations. She taught them how to fish and not to give them fish.
6. COSTLY ADERIBIGBEAWARD OF SPECIAL RECOGNITION
Costly Aderibigbe is a Medical Doctor who graduated from Ladoke Akintola University Of Technology College of Medicine. She has worked in the field of public Healthfor 6 years with expertise in project management, problem solving, managing teams, impact report writing, and research. Her expertise has seen her manage projects focused on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Girl Child Education and Empowerment, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights , and Gender-based Violence.
7. ADEKUNLE ISMAIL (Dodo Ede)AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN ENTERTAINMENT
Adekunle ismail abolade is famously known as "Dodo Ede" has his root by birth from Ikire, Irewole LG Osun state. He is a program producer and presenter of note among which is the "Ojo N Rebi Ana" on Kwara Radio , "Oriyomi" on Orisun 89.5fm Ile ife , "Okejegbe" on New Dawn TV Ibokun, "K.K.K" on Fm Ilesha , "Igbadun" on OSBC Tv , "E Maa Gbadun" on OSBC Radio , "Sabrina Radio Show" , "Iwa Eda" on Born fm Lagos to mention but a few. He joined the clique of 'Movie producers' when he produced his own movie titled "Oyekanmi , Bojesomo , Irugbin(26 episode movie) , Aditu(26 episode movie)" And he has featured in many Nollywood movies.
8. OLADEJO AYOTOLAAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS PROMOTION
Oladejo Ayotola was born on 23rd March to the family of Alh. Salmon Oladejo and Mrs Oladejo nee Omolayo of Ile Akusin Ilobu in Osun state. He added L A Sch I Sao Sagamu between 1987 to 1994 and Muslim High school, sagamu from 1994 to 2000. Fed poly Offa for National Diploma, from 2002 to 2005, where he studied Banking and Finance.
9. WALE ALABIAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT & CAPACITY BUILDING
Wale Alabi was born on 29th of july to the family of Chief Isiaka Alabi Ayodele of Obaloja Compound, Oke-Ede, Ila Orangun in Ila Local Gov. Osun state. He is a Consultant on Tourism and Cultural Matters, Olorunda LG Osogbo. The chairman, Technical Committee on Sanitaion in Osun, Immediate Past Senior Special Assistant to the Gov of Osun state on Regional integration , Managing Partner at Sky Chemmer Nigeria Ltd. He is the publisher of Heritage African Magazine, CEO of Bashland Farms and successful Investor in Transport and logistic business. He is a man of people, a grassroot mobiliser, motivational speaker , analyst and State of Osun Coordinator of Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo Group.
10. ONAKOYA OYETUNDEAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
Onakoya Oyetunde is a graduate of Osun state University, Osogbo. He studied Physics and Education. He is not just a passionate skilled young man, but a God-fearing man. All this accolades has evolved due to his hard working skillsand passion for painting. He is currently the founder and CEO of Emmakins Paint And Classic Design. Which is officially registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
11. ALAWODE OLUWATOSINAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN ENTERTAINMENT
Alawode Oluwatosin Olamide (Massive CCFR) hails from Iragbiji, Osun state. He is a graduate of Linguistics and Communication studies from the prestigious Osun state University. He is a master of ceremonies, comedian and a freelance broadcaster with the Osun state Broadcasting Corporation. He started his public speaking career as a public relations officer for the linguistics and communications studies association in 2014, after which he currently works with Britester Events and Projects Management; Organizers of annual biggest couples gathering Love Rekindled and City Invasion Concerts as the head of logistics.
12. ADEYEMO ENOCH ADELERE FEMIAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN ENTERTAINMENT
Adeyemo Enoch Adelere Oluwafemi also known as "Baba Alariya", a comedian in top notch comic performance with a unique style of an Old Man. Baba Alariya is from a family of six children. He was given birth to by Late Prince John Olayiwola Adeyemo and Mrs Janet Adeyemo. He is the winner of City Awards "Best comedian of the year 2017" , Youth of the year OAYA Awards 2018 and industry Cynosure, MAYA Awards 2018, Next Rated Comedian J-Krue Awards 2019. He came to prominence when he was opportune to feature during the Sisi Osun Beauty Pageant Night Packaged by MTN During Osun Osogbo Festival in 2011. Host of his yearly comedy concert "LaffCourt with Baba Alariya".
13. OLUWATOSIN OLUWASEYIAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN RELIGIOUS ADVANCEMENT
Oluwatosin Oluwaseyi Odeyemi is a prince from ibokunland in Obokun LG Area of Osun state. He was born to the family of Pa and Ma Odeyemi of Obokun. He is popularly known as "BABA FAYEGBAMI" On his Radio, Television and Print Media Evangelical Programmes and write-ups, this man of God has transformed lives of majority of his listeners and readers alike through his religious teachings. He is a founder of "THE CHOSEN FAMILY, FAYEGBEMI PROPHETIC MINISTRY Int".
14. MARYAM KIKELOMOAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN ACADEMIC PROFICIENCY
Maryam Adegbite Kikelomo was born in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun state on the 1st of March. This delectable lady achieved an academic feat as the overall best graduating student of the 2017 set, Osun state University. She graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.91 on a 5.0 Scale. She was known to be the first to break the records in the university since its existence. She attended and spearhead in debate and quiz competitions, held posts in the school's alumni association as well as imparting positively in younger teens.
15. BAMIDELE TAIBAT AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION
Bamidele Taibat Ayo is an OYES Cadet. She is a serving cadet in Olorunda LG Area of Osun state. She is in charege of the sanitation of Old gagrage to Aiyetoro junction everydy from 7am to 10am, After her early morning duty, she would return home and continue with her egg distribution business and this is part of the vocational skills she acquired from the cadet training. Taibat is committed and dedictes to what she her job and vocaton. Not minded that where she is posted is the one of the dirties places in Osogbo, she has been contributing her quota to the environmental neatness of Osun state.
16. IBRAHIM TAOFEEQAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Ibrahim Taofeeq Kayode is a native of Osogbo in Olorunda LG Area of Osun state. He is a graduate of Kurlalumpur in Malaysia where he bagged diploma in Tourism and International Language. He is the CEO of SHEKEENAH ZELTER GLOBAL CONCEPT LTD, a multi million Naira investment that has more than 3 outlets in Osogbo. SHEKEENAH ZELTER GLOBAL Concept delas with buying and selling of properties , Auto, Block industry , sand and granite supply , bore hole drilling and general contractor. With SHEKEENAH ZELTER, Ibrahim taofeeq has employed a lot of job seekers.
17. ABDULMAJEED BABATUNDESPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
Abdulmajeed Babatunde Abdulsalam is a graduate of business administration from kaduna polytechnic, with an MBA from the university of Roehampton united kingdom. He is a member of several professional bodies in Nigeria and Abroad. Abdulmajeed started his banking career in 2004 when he joined the service of Standard Trust Bank PLC as an operations staff in Maiduguri , Borno state. He Founded Terra and Structure Nigeria LTD and later K&K Wells Nigeria LTD In 2010 and 2011 respectively to operate in the downstream segment of NIgeria's oil and gas industry with concentration in servicing of construction companies and real estate before expanding scope of operations into mining, with mining and exploration operations across the length and breadth of Nigeria.
18. FADUNMUIYE OLUWATOYINAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION
Fadunmuiye Oluwatoyin ia an OYES cadet. She was born 30yrs ago. She is incharge of the most busiest part of Osogbo tow (OLAIYA JUNCTION) for her morning saniation which is between 7am to 10am everyday since 2014.
After sanitizing the environment, Oluwatoyin always proceed to where she sells moinmoin. She is a woman like a man. She ia an hardworking and dedicated lady who takes her job seriously.
19 FARUQ OLANREWAJU ABBASAWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN LAW
Faruq Olanrwaju Abbas was born into the family of Alhaji Abdu-Salaam Oyetunde Abbas and Alhaja Muhibat Omobolanle Abbas on 10th June 1985. He is an indigene of Afaake village in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State and he is the firs child of his parents. Faruq commenced his legal career as a paliamentary counsel at the Osun State House of Assembly Osogbo from December 2009 to February 2010 and later joined the law firm of Aboyade & Co. in Lagos State from February 2010 to March 2011 where he completed his compulsory National Youth Service and was retained due to his exceptional performnce as a young lawyer. He joined the reputable law firm of Strachan Partners on 28th March 2011 where he was under the direct tutillage of Mr. Candide-Johnson, SAn for a perid of almost four (4) years. He rose to the position of Senior Associate in Strachan Partners and he left the firm to join the leading law fim of Aelex Legal Practitioners & Arbitrators in May 2014.
