The 28-year-old man reportedly died exactly seven days to his wedding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. It was gathered that Stephen died on Saturday, October 31, 2020. He was hale and healthy before his death. According to a friend, Engr Prince Chukwu, the deceased was set to wed on Saturday, November 7, 2020. "He was not sick. His wedding is supposed to be next week Saturday. Stephen died like that," he said in response to an inquiry over what happened to Stephen. "May your killers never find rest till eternity! Rest in peace comrade. Your wedding is supposed to be next week Saturday." he added. Meanwhile, friends, family and colleagues have taken to Facebook to mourn Stephen. One of his tenants, Kingsley Nko described him as "a good and caring landlord" In his tribute on Tuesday, November 3, one Grant Amadi described Stephen as a "fine human being by every standard" "Stephen Wali was in that congress. He was also a fine human being, by every standard. His death last weekend, strengthened by conviction on the place of luck in all gains and losses. I am deeply pained by his death. But what can I do? I will cherish the memories I have of Stephen, because they are pleasant"
