The Canadian horror film MIND LEECH has a brief running time of approximately one hour. This kind of story requires something short and to the point. Likewise, enough humor to make the story work. We're dealing with a leech that manages to take over the mind of the person it bites, as the title suggests.

This low-budget production has a good chance of becoming a cult favorite. Finding these obscure horror gems is one of our favorite aspects of running Heaven of Horror. And, most importantly, making other people aware of them so that the filmmakers can produce additional horror films!

This short story takes place in 1998 in Provincia State, where there are no cellphones and a lot of snow. We begin with a well-known opening of monster horror; During the summer, a few men release an unknown chemical into the nearby lake. They really don't care that it's their job to get rid of the chemicals.

Actually, one of them does, but not enough to alter their actions.

Two friends go ice fishing in the dead of winter a few months later. They go every year, but this time they manage to catch something; a parasite that takes over the victim's brain function by attaching itself to their temple. A little bit like a parasite (or that horrible fungus in The Last of Us).

It's a treat just to watch the Mind Leech victims try to control their human host and move around.
