In a statement released by the Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ferdinand Nwonye, on Thursday May 13, both parties were urged to de-escalate hostilities and remain committed to the two-state solution while ensuring that all citizens lived in peace and dignity. It read; “The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to state that the Federal Government of Nigeria is watching with great concern the unfolding developments with Israel and the State of Palestine and urges both parties to see reason and de-escalate the hostilities. “The Federal Government further urges the two parties to remain committed to the two-state solution and, in the meantime, guarantee the rights of all citizens to live in peace and dignity.”
