Osun State Tourism Board supports Miss Tourism Osun beauty Pageant 2017.

Miss Tourism Osun Beauty Pageant 2017 have received the full support of the government of the State of Osun as its preparation kicked off to maximum to make the programme a success.

The State of Osun Tourism Board  Chairman, Engr. Tunde Daniyan and the General Manager of the board Mr. Adeniji gave the charge by promising their best for Miss Tourism Osun Beauty Pageant tagged "The Genesis" scheduled for next year January 2017.

According to Engr. Daniyan, the State Government of Osun under the governance of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is a lover of Tourism, Culture and Entertainment and have endorsed BMP Entertainment (an entertainment company owned by Osun top rated and famous DJ Bassman) to host the programme through the tourism board.

Similarly, Hon. Sikiru Ayedun, former commissioner for tourism, home affairs and culture, a key player for the program, stated that boosting the tourism industry in the state for improved economy is the motive behind Governor Aregbesola's support for the maiden edition of the event.

While reacting, the Event Producer and Coordinator, Oluwaseun Salawu a.k.a DJ Bassman, said the registration is now opened to young ladies from the age of 18 to 27years, who want to become the maiden Tourism Queen of Osun state, the most prestigious state in Nigeria and the State of the Virtuous.

He also stated that state of origin and height is not a pre-requisite. "As long as you are a Nigerian and you reside in Osun, and of average height of 5.5ft, you are eligible to contest".

This is the maiden edition and it is an opportunity to make history, thus the theme "Revitalizing Tourism Through Beauty", where the emerged Queen will be mandated to use her reign to attract investors, both local and foreign to the State of Osun tourism, as this will contribute to sales, profit, jobs, revenue, tax and income to the state.

The pageant will attract tourist to the State and it will showcase the exquisite attraction of the numerous tourist centres, which includes but not limited to the following: Osun festival, Susan Wenger’s shrine, Oranmiyan Staff, Ife Bronze, Erin Ijesha Waterfalls, and Kiriji War Museum.

Others are International Breweries Limited producers of Trophy beer, Gold malt, and other beers; Wesley Guild Hospital; the ancient palace of Ooni, ile - ife, Oduduwa college, Ilesa Grammar School; and the annual Iwude festival.

The pageant will be used to promote the cultural Heritage of the State of Osun.
