Forbes Releases 2023 World Billionaires List; Jay-Z is The Only Rapper to Make the Cut.

Forbes has released its 2023 World’s Billionaires List and while most names are expected on there, Jay-Z is the only rapper to make the cut.

Some of the other recognizable names from the entertainment world on the list are Rihanna and Kim Kardashian. Interestingly, Kanye West has not made the list following the end of his lucrative partnership with Adidas. The rapper had a multi-year partnership with the sports brand for his company Yeezy and was placed 1,513 on Forbes’ list of the world’s wealthiest people last year.

Jay-Z is ranked 1217 on the list and now has a net worth of $2.5 billion, up from $1.4 billion the last time around. Forbes notes that a substantial portion of Hov’s fortune comes from his very lucrative liquor business. Spirits giant LVMH purchased a 50 percent stake in Jay’s champagne empire, Armand de Brignac, better known as Ace of Spades back in 2021. He also sold a majority of his stake in his cognac brand D’Usse to Bacardi in February this year.

While Ye is not on the list, his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, is still a billionaire with a net worth of $1.2 billion, down from $1.9 billion last year. Her Skims clothing brand is now worth a reported $3.2 billion.
