Popular Nigerian artist, Olamide Adedeji, better known by his stage name ‘Baddo,’ on Thursday, announced the launch of his Television Channel, `Voice Of The Streets (VOTS)’.

The indigenous rapper and ‘Science Student’ crooner took to his Instagram page to announce the news in a post which has more than 66,000 likes as at the time of filing this report. The launch date incidentally is Olamide’s birthday and he described the station as “a birthday gift to myself.’’

The YBNL rapper said the channel is a platform for ghetto children to “be heard”.

His words: “It’s been all joy and blessings for me since I started my journey to being the man I dreamt to be. Though I had a lot hurdles and setbacks, I kept moving because I was certain of what I had inside of me,” the rapper said.

“Today is another special day, marking the beginning of another special year in my life and I also have the privilege of owning a TV channel that would change the face of entertainment in Africa.”

“As one of the first African entrepreneurs to own a channel, I am giving out 100 decoders (PLAY TV) to the first 100 people to get to PLAY TV’s premise today. Each decoder comes with a fully paid one-year subscription to say thank you for standing by me. Thank you for your love and support. We shall celebrate more greatness.”

On another post, Olamide further dedicated the television station to his deceased parents and son, Batifèori Maximiliano Adedeji.

He said: “This is also for the day ones who’s been supporting ruthlessly through the thick and thin, those who believed in me when I didn’t even have an idea how far I’d go on this journey.

“This is also a harbinger for every ghetto kid that you can be anything and achieve anything long as you put your mind to it and work toward it.

“Let’s all welcome our brand new baby ‘VOTS (voice of the street)’ our television, my television, your television.”

Olamide had earlier declared that Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo is the most hardworking player in the history of football.
