The state government has warned principals and private school owners against collecting third term fees from parents and guardians as academic activities begin yesterday in Kwara State.

At a meeting of stakeholders held at St Anthony Secondary School in Ilorin, the State Commissioner for Education and Human Resource Development, Hajia Fatima Bisola Ahmed, represented by the Director of the Quality Assurance Bureau, Mrs Comfort Abioye, revealed this.

According to her, within two weeks of re-opening, schools should instead schedule revision classes and placement tests. She also urged schools to stick to safety measures for COVID-19.

The Commissioner also announced that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will start on Tuesday, 6 October 2020, and that the General Entrance Examination will take place on 17 October 2020.
