Meanwhile, as Nigeria grapples with the ongoing global pandemic, Zamfara state government is set to begin using television and radio to air lessons for its students and pupils following the closure of schools as a result of COVID-19 lockdown. According to Daily Trust, the northern state in conjunction with the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Ministry of Education will be supporting the production and airing of lessons via the Zamfara state radio and television and NTA Gusau. Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Maradun, the SUBEB executive chairman, explained that the major idea of the e-learning platform was to assist children in continuing their education at home. According to him, the exercise will hold through various news stations at different hours every day. Maradun noted that SUBEB has already spent over N5 million and is prepared to spend more in order to ensure children at home kept learning.
