It was made clear by Education Minister Mallam Adamu Adamu after the virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the week. He said final year students preparing for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) will not be allowed to return to school contrary to the earlier announcement. According to him, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) cannot determine the resumption date of schools for Nigeria. He said that none of the schools under his ministry will resume until schools are considered safe. The Minister urged the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the state governments to reconsider their decision to open for exams. He said he would prefer that Nigerian students lose an academic year than to expose them to dangers.
