Aled Glynne Davies, a former BBC Radio editor, has reportedly been found dead.

Four days after he went missing on a late-night walk, his body was found.

After going missing on New Year's Eve, the 65-year-old father of two was found dead in water two miles from where he was last seen.

The report states that Aled, the editor of BBC Radio Cymru, had gone out to eat with his wife before returning home to ring in the new year. However, he decided to take a walk before midnight and was last seen in Pontcanna, Cardiff.

His family was worried about him after he disappeared on New Year's Day, so they made an appeal for information on his whereabouts the next morning.

According to The Mirror, more than 400 people joined the search while his family pleaded with homeowners to check their CCTV for Aled.

According to reports, Gruffudd Glyn, his son, stated that any footage would be essential in determining his father's whereabouts on the night he vanished.

Huw Edwards, a presenter for the BBC who used to work with Aled, also made a social media appeal for help. Four days later, specifically around 9:40 a.m. on January 4, police discovered Aled's body near the Cardiff Sailing Club.

An inquest into Aled's death was reportedly opened at Pontypridd Coroner's Court following the recovery of his body. However, the hearing was later postponed until the police investigation is complete.

The Mirror reported, citing The Sun, that Superintendent Michelle Conquer stated, "We continue to support Aled’s family at this very sad time and our investigation continues to determine the circumstances surrounding the death." This statement was cited by the Mirror.

"Aled's family would like to thank everyone for all the support they’ve had over the past few days and have asked that Aled's life be celebrated," South Wales Police also reportedly stated.

Gruffudd Glyn, Aled's son, expressed gratitude for his father's efforts in a tweet. We are devastated to report that Dad was found this morning in the river.

"Now is the time for everyone to unwind. Let's all commemorate Dad's life, Afryl, Gwenllian, and Gruff, as well as the rest of our family.
