Osun Osogbo River is a powerful place and a scary place to be at night.

Before you enter the courtyard you are to off your shoes cause you are not allowed to enter the sacred grove with shoes. All electronic devices were barred from the Osun shrine where sacrifices and requests are being made.

Apart from the unseen powers that reside in the shrine, the forest is a dangerous place at night because of the wild animals that reside there, and come out to play when nobody is there.

The chief custodian of the river who feeds the Yeye Osun cannot stay inside the forest from 4pm downward.

The Osun goddess could also be called mother of many children as the Osun Olomoyoyo image reside inside the shrine depicts.

It is Said that Many woman who are barren visit the Osun river goddess help them with child bearing with promises made to bring back something tangible to the goddess or deity.

Manying would fulfill there promises, while some others forget about the promise they made with the diety. And the Yeye Osun have dealt with them seriously.

And until they pay back there vows to the Yeye ,they shall continue to have problems wherever they reside.

Anyone who come back to pay Her vows will go and visit the chief priestess. The chief priestess will take them to the river to beg the goddess of many children.

And after whatever sacrifice is being made to appease the goddess of the river and nobody is allowed to look back as anyone who does will live with whatever consequences that follows.
