University Student Hospitalized After Getting Stabbed By Boyfriend For Returning Late From Party

A woman, Audrey Nyasha Rwambiwa, is currently battling for her life after she was brutally stabbed by her boyfriend, Webster Mubati, with a kitchen knife over the weekend in Harare.

Mubati is said to be on the run after perpetrating the act.

The brutal attack occurred after Audrey, a 25-year-old student at Women’s University, Zimbabwe, returned home late from a party.

Audrey was rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital, where she is currently fighting for her life.

The incident took place at Tanaka Place on Josiah Chinamano Avenue, where Audrey had been living with Webster. According to reports, she arrived home around 3 a.m. after attending a party with friends. Enraged by her late return, Webster assaulted her before escalating the attack with a kitchen knife.

During the altercation, he stabbed her multiple times, targeting her left br3ast, finger, arm, ribs, back, and left shoulder. In a desperate attempt to escape, Audrey locked herself in the bathroom and broke a window to flee, seeking help from neighbours who rushed her to the hospital.

Police have launched a manhunt for Webster, who fled the scene after the attack. Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, spokesperson for the Harare provincial police, confirmed the investigation and called on the public to assist with information that could lead to his arrest.

“Police are investigating an attempted murder case involving a university student who was st@bbed by her lover. The suspect fled after the attack, and the victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” said Inspector Chakanza.

Audrey remains in critical condition as the authorities intensify their search for the fugitive.
