Mallam Nasir Idris, a community resident, said that on Wednesday, at around 3.30 a.m., bandits stormed the community, killed the community leader and his nephew, then moved to another part of the community and kidnapped four women, including a nursing mother. “The bandits killed Malam Ibrahim Abdullahi, a community leader and also a Chairman of Fityanul Islam First Aid group of the area,” he said, adding that the bandits shot sporadically to scare the villagers away when they arrived in the community. Two other residents of the same village were also injured, but they were taken to the hospital for treatment. The community's bandits also kidnapped four women, including a nursing mother, he said. As of the time this report was written, DSP Mohammed Jalige, the Command's Public Relations Officer, did not return his calls to confirm the situation.
