Author Topic: Robbers Who Tried To Rob A Bank In Oyo State, Caught And Set Ablaze  (Read 1096 times)

Three armed robbers were on Wednesday set burning by irate crowd in a failed bank robbery which happened at First Bank, Okeho in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The News Agency of Nigeria accumulated that the robbers, who were armed with AK 47 rifles and dynamite, endeavored to ransack the bank in Okeho yet were overwhelmed by police and local trackers.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi, affirmed the episode, saying the occurrence occurred at about 5p..m. on Wednesday.

"At around 1658 hrs, there was a bank robbery wherein thrill seeker armed desperados who accompanied white 18-seater transport attacked First bank Okeho in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State with a purpose to ransack.

"The armed robbers who got access into the bank utilized dynamites and AK-47 riffles shots to blow the bank security entryway.

"The robbery which was reacted to by the Police Tactical groups and cooperative endeavors of the Vigilante and trackers yielded results.

"Subsequent upon this, three of the robbers who were captured when the 18-seater transport had a mishap and somersaulted, were from that point set on fire by the irate crowd when they endeavored to get away from the location of the mishap.

"Promptly the Commissioner of Police, Nwachuckwu Enwonwu, got wind of the obnoxious demonstrations, he further coordinated that all the Police Tactical groups including the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Mobile Police Force (PMF 72) and Police faculty from Okeho Area Command and close by Divisions to be on the path of different individuals from the escaping robbers who got away in various directions,"he said.

Mr Fadeyi said that the Commissioner of Police denounced the devious demonstration and guaranteed the individuals of Oyo State of the police readiness to secure lives and property previously, during and after the Sallah celebrations.

He encouraged the great individuals of the state to approach their legitimate organizations with no dread of attack or danger from any quarters, saying the police are on head of the circumstance.
