Posted by: Miss Ifeoluwa« on: November 08, 2016, 10:34:38 PM »Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, said it received an alert on Tuesday morning concerning an accident at Lekki-Epe expressway, Abidjan bus stop General Manager LASEMA, Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu, said the agency sent its Emergency Response Team to the scene of the incident. A statement he signed said preliminary investigations carried out by the ERT at the scene revealed that a trailer conveying iron rod with registration number Lagos AGL 86 XN, on high speed, collided with another trailer loaded with cement parked on the road side resulting into fatality of two victims. “The driver of iron rod loaded truck identified as Mubarak and the motor boy identified as Baki were trapped dead. “They were extricated by the LASEMA ERT and were handed over to the Nigerain Police from Elemoro Police Station, while the two trucks were also towed to the same police station for further investigation”, he said. The operatives of the Agency, alongside the FRSC and the Nigeria Police Force were present at the scene of the incident. Tiamiyu assured that proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by appropriate authorities. He, however, advised motorists to adhere to safety precaution while driving and also ensure that broken-down vehicles were properly parked with necessary safety caution.
