Daily Trust gathered that the incident occurred about 2.30pm when the suspects rode into the filling station ostensibly to refuel their motorcycle. A witness said the suspected robbers had requested N200 fuel, before the one at the back suddenly jumped down, brought out an Ak 47 riffle and moved straight into the cash office where he shot dead the assistant manager of the station. “The robber also shot a male customer in the leg before carting away undisclosed amount of money from the filling station,” the witness said, adding that the robbers then shot sporadically in the air to scare people away before leaving the scene unchallenged. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Nkeiru Nwode who said she was yet to get full detail, promised to get back to the reporter.
