An infant baby girl was recouped on Thursday morning from a drain at Funmilayo Bus Stop, Orile Agege, Lagos.

A rights dissident, Declan Ihekaire, said he found the crying infant wrapped in a sack inside the grimy water at 5:30 a.m.

Ihekaire, an occupant of the territory, said he immediately called the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Elere Police Station, Mrs. Regina, and the Lagos State crisis reaction number 112.

He revealed to The Nation that it was the DPO that raced to the scene and encouraged the infant's exchange to the Orile Agege General Hospital.

Ihekaire stated: "Around 5:30 a.m., a security man on my road hit into my entryway. I turned out and asked him what the issue was. He clarified that there was the cry of an infant from the canal outside. I tailed him there and discovered that it was really an infant. I cordoned off the place and called the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Elere Police Station, Agege, Mrs. Regina.

"I have to indicate gratefulness to the DPO of Elere. She's a strong lady. Notwithstanding the way that it was at a young hour early in the day despite everything she picked my call and reacted quickly."

He complimented authorities of the Orile Agege General Hospital for their care of the infant and depicted the clinic's welfare office as comprising of "genuine experts."

Ihekaire, be that as it may, castigated another healing facility near where the infant was found, for neglecting to give the baby emergency treatment.

He included: "I likewise need to enlist my dismay with a doctor's facility near the scene. I sent emissaries there who allured on the medical attendants on obligation to give the child emergency treatment after we expelled her from the canal, yet they declined to come. They said the clinic is a private one."

He required the capture and arraignment of the child's parents/folks.
