An infant baby girl was recouped on Thursday morning from a drain at Funmilayo Bus Stop, Orile Agege, Lagos.

A rights dissident, Declan Ihekaire, said he found the crying infant wrapped in a sack inside the grimy water at 5:30 a.m.

Ihekaire, an occupant of the territory, said he immediately called the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Elere Police Station, Mrs. Regina, and the Lagos State crisis reaction number 112.

He revealed to The Nation that it was the DPO that raced to the scene and encouraged the infant's exchange to the Orile Agege General Hospital.

Ihekaire stated: "Around 5:30 a.m., a security man on my road hit into my entryway. I turned out and asked him what the issue was. He clarified that there was the cry of an infant from the canal outside. I tailed him there and discovered that it was really an infant. I cordoned off the place and called the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Elere Police Station, Agege, Mrs. Regina.
