Osun Police Arrest Four Over Alleged Mosque Assault Leading to Man’s Death in Osogbo
The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four individuals in connection with the tragic death of a man at Adigun Memorial Mosque, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo.
The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the investigation to fully unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to preliminary reports, the man went to the mosque earlier yesterday, where an altercation reportedly occurred between him and some persons in the mosque.
Before the police could arrive at the scene to intervene and take him to a hospital, he was already in critical condition.
He was later confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.
Sources say the deceased had visible injuries on his body, suspected to have been sustained during the incident.
The police have stated that investigations are ongoing to determine exactly what transpired and to establish the level of responsibility of those involved.
Meanwhile, security operatives have been deployed to the area to maintain calm and prevent any breakdown of law and order.
The police command expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and assured the public that justice will be served, as anyone found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
