A man recognized as Mr Uwem was discovered at the beginning of today by a few men after professedly taking cash from a man's pocket in a moving vehicle in Akwa Ibom state. The episode occurred in a scaled down transport making a beeline for Ekom Iman intersection from Plaza in Uyo, the state capital.

It was accumulated that the suspect subsequent to accomplishing his point, landed from the transport along University of Uyo Teaching Hospital at Abak Road and was going to board a tricycle. That was the point at which the casualty saw that his pocket has been purged.

The casualty raised an alert as the suspect was pursued and got and was taken to Etinan stop at Ekom Iman intersection where he was mobbed and beaten.

While insisting his offense, Mr Uwem who hailed from Ikot Akpan Abia, Ibesikpo argued for absolution.

" I tailed him from square when I saw that there was cash in his pocket, it would be ideal if you pardon me," he said

The suspect was later set free by Chairman of the recreation center in the wake of arguing for leniency.
