Read-A-Thon: Ajao Samson hits100hrs, proceeds to break 214hrs world record

In his bid to break the Guinness World Record for the longest reading marathon, Ajao Samson, also known as Impeccable has on friday evening reached a remarkable 100hours.

OsunReporters News gathered that Samson, a former Students’ Union President of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, embarked on a 214-hour Read-a-Thon at Adolak Conference Hall in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Monday, May 6, and is expected to conclude on May 14, 2024.

Earlier, the wife of the Osun State Governor, Ambassador (Mrs.) Ngozi Adeleke, paid a supportive visit to the venue where Samson Ajao is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon reading.

Mrs. Adeleke, who stormed the venue on Thursday, was accompanied by top government officials, including the Coordinator, Imole Youth Corps, Chief Johnson Oyedele.

During the visit, she encouraged Samson Ajao to keep his spirit and remain focused and determined until the end of the reading challenge, while she would continue to provide the necessary support to ensure his success and bring the world record to Nigeria.

She confirmed that the governor is aware of Samson’s quest to break the Guinness World Record and will soon mobilize support to see that Ajao places the country on the global map while promoting a reading culture.

It would be recalled that Ajao Samson began the longest reading aloud marathon on Monday at Adolak Conference Hall in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, and it is expected to last for nine days.

The current record for the longest marathon reading aloud is 124 hours, achieved by Rysbai Isakov of Kyrgyzstan in Bursa, Turkey, from September 22 to 27, 2022.
