Rani Mukerji is back in Mardaani 2, five years after Mardaani, as feisty police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy. And what better time to get the first-look poster and teaser released than Navaratri. Rani, lauded for her role in Mardaani, has once again stepped into Gopi Puthran's fierce cop shoes for the film.

The trailer was released by the makers and they wrote, "This Navratri, good will triumph over evil. The 38-second video begins with a team of police officers entering into a building lead by Rani Mukerji. Then she is seen belting a man as a voiceover plays, "Ab tu kisi ladki ko haath laga ke dikha, tujhe itna maarungi ki teri twacha se teri umr ka pata nahi chalega."

Along with the teaser, the makers also unveiled the first-look poster of Mardaani 2. Clad in a khakee and beret, in the first-look poster, Rani Mukerji looks intense.

Rani Mukerji made the big announcement about Mardaani 2 in December 2018. Speaking of the movie, she said in a statement, "Mardaani is and will always be extremely close to my heart. Everyone has asked me over and over again since it was released when I was going to do Mardaani 2 and I'm sure this announcement will come as a pleasant surprise to all of them. Gopi has written an amazing script that we all love and I can't wait to start shooting this film soon."
